Privacy Policy

Better Hours (“the app”, “we”) is built around a simple idea: your time data is yours. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

What we collect

• Account information. When you create an account, our sign-in provider (Clerk) stores your email address and basic authentication details so you can sign in securely and recover your account.
• Your time entries. The activities you log (like “Work” or “Exercise”), any optional notes you attach, your schedule preferences, your goal, and your optional “About you” answers. These are stored on your device and synced to our servers so your data follows you across devices and survives reinstalls.
• Subscription status. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We use RevenueCat to know whether your subscription is active. We never see your payment details.

How AI features work

When you view a recap, weekly insight, or roast, the relevant time entries (and your optional goal and profile answers) are sent to our server, which uses an AI language model to write the analysis. This data is used only to generate your analysis in the moment. We do not use your data to train AI models.

What we never do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Data retention and deletion

Your synced data is kept only so the app can work for you. You can delete your account and all synced data at any time from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). Deletion removes your account and your synced entries from our servers.

Service providers

• Clerk — secure sign-in and account management.
• RevenueCat — subscription status management.
• Apple — payment processing for subscriptions.
• AI model provider — generates your recaps, insights, and roasts from the data described above.

Children

Better Hours is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the date above.
